This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Northwest Region, Regional Office, Division of Trust Services, Branch of Natural Resources in Portland, Oregon or Vancouver, Washington.
- Serve as a Fisheries Biologist responsible for technical assistance and monitoring plans and programs related to Indian fisheries program.
- Prepare and submit program budgets, goals and objectives to conform available funds to comply with policies, standards and procedures.
- Recommend actions relating to litigation and negotiation support concerning fisheries program activities.
- Monitor anadromous fisher regulatory actions of the region to ensure regulations do not deprive Indians the opportunity to harvest their share of the fish resource.
- Responsible for managing budgets, and prepare annual budget estimates and distributions based on allotted funds.
- Serve as Awarding Officials Technical Representative during award, administration, and monitoring contracts and grants.
- Prepares, conducts or coordinates consultation required by Section (7) of the Endangered Species Act for actions taken by or on behalf of the BIA effecting listed marine and freshwater aquatic species
